Re: joint filing Past tax returns are filed with my husband first. I put my name first this year. Does it matter or should I change the order?

Do not switch the order from last year, The IRS will get confused, since it keeps its records by the SSN of the first person listed.

I haven't filed yet.  Can I just change the order of the names or do I have to start with a new return?
