Quicken Employer Forms (QEF)

I used Turbotax Home and Business 2022 to prepare my 1099's. I purchased Turbotax Home and Business 2023 to create 1099's for 2023. There is an upload feature in Quicken Employer Forms (QEF) that allows a file to be uploaded/imported into QEF with 2022's 1099 recipients. Then all you need to do is add additional recipients and remove 2022 recipients that won't receive a 1099 in 2023. I received an error code 504 when attempting to upload the information within the 2022 Turbotax file. Has anyone else experience this and have a solution? Thanks in advance.

Did you use the online version of QEF or did you prepare the 1099s on your computer?

Are you getting the error on the screen below?

Were you about to get the 2023 1099's created using the Quick Employer Forms?

If you are still getting an error, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" file that is experiencing this issue when trying to upload to 2023 QEF. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions on your prior year TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax CD/Download for Windows
  2. Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'
  3. Write down or send an image of your token number then place in this issue.
  4. We can then review your exact scenario for a solution.
  5. Please also tell us any states included in the return.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and provide you with a resolution.
