Questions about getting an extension and efiling after 4/15/25

I never did this before.

It looks like TT creates a mail in form to put in for an extension (not electronic) ?

If you do (or even if you do not) apply for an extension, can you still efile Federal & NJ State returns AFTER 4/15/25?

Or are ALL returns after 4/15/25 mail-in only?

Using TurboTax you can e-file a 2024 tax return at any time on or before October 15, 2025.

If your 2024 tax return has a tax refund there is no need to file an extension request as there are no penalties for filing after the due date, April 15, 2025, if you have a tax refund

However, if you have taxes owed, those taxes have to be paid on or before April 15, 2025 to avoid a failure to pay penalty.

The extension request only gives you until October 15, 2025 to file a tax return, it does not give you an extension to pay taxes owed.
