question that comes up and asked if you lived 6 months in the us

Why is the question coming up and asking me if I have lived in the US  for 6 months in 2021?

I have never left the country.

It does not know if we are expats, or earned income elsewhere, outside the U.S.

I agree that if you never left the US (not counting living in PR or Guam/ U.S. territories) 2021, the correct answer is Yes.  I'm not sure I understand "want so increase my refund". Did you mean that it would increase your refund?  Is that not what you would want?    I tried a new copy of a tax file to see how the screen looks to review Earned Income Credit, and it accepted yes & went to a list of questions to pick one from before agreeing the "test" income qualified.

In case it helps, I found the following maybe similar question to Intuit from 2019. If you want to read the responses there, I suggest copying the link and pasting it in a new window.

By accident I input that I lived outside the US for more than 6 months. How did I fix this? I was in the US the full year. (intuit.com)

Please note that I am not a tax professional, am just hoping I am helping.
