Question on backdoor Roth IRA contributed to year 2020 but done in Apr 2021 above income limits

Hi experts,

I tried to do backdoor Roth contribution for my spouse by first putting 6K in traditional IRA and coveting to Roth IRA soon, But i did this for 2020 year,  in Apr 2021;  so i do not have 1099R yet (may come next year).

Note:I am above income limit so do not qualify for deductions.

Question is how do i report 2020 Back door Roth IRA now (for 2020 tax returns)?

I saw 2 help links but both are not fully helping

1. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/entering-importing/help/how-do-i-enter-a-backdoor-roth-ira-conversion/00/25567/message-id/613

2. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/retirement/discussion/backdoor-roth-ira-contribution/01/118292#M8533

Please help to answer.

You only report the contribution for 2020 on the 2020 tax return.

The conversion will be reported next year on your 2021 tax return since it was done in 2021.

Enter IRA contributions here:
Federal Taxes,
Deductions & Credits,
I’ll choose what I work on (if that screen comes up),
Retirement & Investments,
Traditional & Roth IRA contribution.

OR  Use the "Tools" menu  (if online version under My Account) and then "Search Topics" for "ira contributions" which will take you to the same place.
