Question is treating myself or spouse as a US resident for the entire tax year, but the large print above is mentioning treating Alien as a resident. Ofc we are res but ?

Do I put yes bc we are residents or do I put no bc we don't relate to the comment about nonresident or dual status alien?

@knead2  from your post I am not sure where you are in the process of preparing a return ( 2024 ?)

First, are you a US person ( citizen/GreenCard/ Resident for Tax purposes )?  How about your spouse ?

Second , is your tax home in the USA or you are abroad ?  If abroad , which country ?

Third, is this your first year preparing a US return with your spouse ?  And if not how did you file last year

I will circle back once I hear from you --yes ?

we are born and live in the US 12 months. Maybe I checked a wrong box to even have this question asked?

@knead2  just go back to your personal information tab and check over everything --- think there is a screen where it asks if spouse is NRA  ( this is new for this year I believe ).  May be that was filled in error.   Is there more one of us can do for you?

Do you get Social Security?   There is a question if you lived in a foreign country.  Go back and double check that you marked No for each of you.
