It depends on the version of TurboTax you are using. If you are using TurboTax Online, you will need to review each property under the QBI section and review your answers for an enterprise. These questions are found after you Continue from the Rental Summary page. Be sure none of the boxes/answers for enterprise are enabled, including the box on the page "Should this business be treated as part of a combined business?"
If you're using TurboTax for Desktop, you can make this change easily using Forms Mode.
- Go to Forms and click on Schedule E Wks [property description].
- Scroll down to the beginning of the QBI Worksheet.
- Uncheck the box on Line (A)(1)(a).
- Confirm the QBI worksheet listed on Line 2 is correct (click QuickZoom box if needed).
- Repeat for each property.
