Problem entering paid estimated taxes on Indiana IT40

Hi,

Filling out the Indiana State Income tax forms.   TurboTax never asked for the amount of estimated taxes that I have paid.  It did assign a penalty for underpayment.   Went to the form and TurboTax will not allow editing of Schedule 5 of the IT 40.   Am I missing something?

The TurboTax program interview actually asks during the FEDERAL interview about all of your estimated tax payments, including state estimated payments.  I believe that the info linked below will help you straighten this out.

Where do I enter my estimated tax payments?

I went back to the Federal interview and did not find any place to enter State estimated taxes for the tax year being worked on. What it does have is payments with State extensions and Refunds from prior year taxes applied to the current year, but not estimated tax payments made. Every year I get a correction from the Indiana Department of Revenue making an adjustment for my estimated taxes paid, because the opportunity to enter them in the interview is missing. This is something Turbo Tax should include for the future.

Indiana Form IT-40 calls for Schedule 5 as the source for entering Estimated tax paid, and you will notice that form is not currently available in Turbo Tax.

Please do a Search for estimated taxes paid and click on the jump-to result.

The second line down is "State estimated taxes for 2019". Click on Start, answer "yes" that you paid estimated state taxes, and indicate which state and what dates and amounts.

Somehow I managed to ignore it and thought I'd go back again to fill in except I never remember after reaching the state tax section. Thanks.
