I see many potential Turbo Tax customers are having the same problem as me and are not getting useful help with it. This is 2023, it is not complicated to pay US bills from abroad! I pay US companies with my US credit card (with a foreign address). I can use Wise, PayPal, mail a check from my US bank. How to do this as simply as possible? There are at least 5 million Americans living abroad. It should not be so complicated for us to pay for tax software.
My solution which I seem to forget every year is this - I have a foreign address and a US bank with a Visa card account.
The bank has my foreign address, but I contact them every year to change my address, the one attached to my Visa card, to my brother's address in the US.
This usually takes a few days to go through, but I keep receiving problems with Intuit and I'm forced to contact my bank and double check everything. At some point this change of address works and the Visa transaction goes through.
It is extremely frustrating. I'm also forced to physically mail in my taxes every year.
This is 2023 and the US seems a tad behind the rest of the developed world with banking. I use my smartphone for all transactions to include getting money out the wall (for those very few times when I actually need cash).
