Paid student loan interest in 2019, over $1K in total. Didn't see this deducted from fed tax. Is this bc I am self employed, 1099-MISC only, no W2. Yearly income is <15K.

You should be able to deduct your student loan interest.  However, if your net income is lower than the standard deduction, you will not see a benefit.  Please click here for information on deducting your student loan interest.
