Oweing the irs

How do I go about filing my taxes if I owe? At the end of paying on turbo tax it asks how I want to pay and gives the option to pay debt or credit card and I don’t have it right now.

You should be able to choose to send a check and then not send it in order to e-file.

Make sure you contact the IRS for a work-out.

Good Afternoon Courtneyblue11,

I understand you have a balance due on your 2023 tax return and do not have the funds to pay at the moment.  First of all, when you filed an extension back in April, that extension was only for filing not for paying balance due.  Your balance due was actually due on April 15, 2024.

You will be paying a late payment penalty as well as interest on the late payment.

You could set up an Installment Payment Plan with the IRS.  It should be one of the options besides paying by Debit or Credit Card.
