Override?

I have 2  1099Misc for royalties on the same property.  The program shows them separately, but then adds the second to the first but shows the second again totaling the 1st+the 2nd+the 2nd.  Some forms have the correct numbers, but schedule 1 shows the wrong amount as does the 1040.

There must be something duplicated in the program. I suggest you delete the 1099-MISC entries and then review the form 1040 to make sure they are not being reflected there, and then re-enter them.

for the same pretty, combine the amounts and enter as 1 item.  the irs will add the 1099's and compare to your total.

These were paid by two different companies with two different ID numbers.  Unfortunately I think they need to be entered separately.

Have you checked if one of the 1099-MISC has the box Corrected checked.  If this is the case then you will only enter the 1099-MISC that is marked Corrected.

Neither is a corrected invoice.  It is the same stream of royalties, but the company generating them changed before year end.

Try this:

  1. Delete both 1099-Misc forms.
  2. To do this edit Income from Form 1099-MISC  from the Your income and expenses screen.
  3. Then edit Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E), create the 1099-Misc Forms as you enter income for the royalty property.
  4. If you hit done at the 1099-MISC Summary page, TurboTax will allow you to create or edit 1099-Miscs for that property
