On Form 5695, where do I enter cost of energy related items for 2022?

1) We had a solar powered attic vent fan installed to reduce the heat in the attic to help the AC run more efficiently.  Where to I enter the cost of that on Form 5695?
2) We replaced the original SEER 14 HVAC system that was worn out, with a new SEER15 HVAC system.  Where to I enter the cost of that on Form 5695?

A solar powered attic fan is not eligible for the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit.

For the HVAC system -

To enter Home Energy Credits -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credit
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Under Your Home
  • On Home Energy Credits, click the start or update button

Or enter home energy improvement in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to home energy improvement

On the screen Tell Us How Much You Paid for Energy-Saving Improvements -

Qualified energy property is any of the following.
• Certain electric heat pump water heaters; electric heat pumps; central air conditioners; and natural gas, propane, or oil water heaters.

Enter the cost in the box labeled Energy-Efficient Building Property.
