On form 1099B, there is only an amount in 1d, there is NO box 1e

I sold stock in 2018. My form1099B has the amount received in 1d, but there is NO box 1e

Box 1e Form 1099-B is where the payer would have entered the cost basis for the items sold.

The box is blank because the payer did not have the cost basis for your items.

You will need this information to complete your tax return.

It is will be used to determine any gain or loss you may have on the sale.

Apparently you have not seen a "2019 Form 1099-B Proceeds from Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions". Put a few more years under your belt, you will get there.
