Okay I tried to file first then it tried charging me then I got the free edition then when I go to file it says I have to amend my tax file? Why? I'm so lost and confused

It said my social had been used before but I got an expert through the chat and she showed me how to clear it and re-enter it my whole tax information so I don't understand how come I have to amend my taxes now? What did I do wrong to have to amend my taxes with the IRS?

It sounds like you may have filed your tax return the first time (when it tried charging you).

Please check your filing status by following these instructions: TurboTax Tools: Where's my Refund?

You can also use the IRS tool Where's My Refund to check to see if you already e-filed your return.
