NYS- I cannot efile state taxes. The community indicates you need to have federal return accepted first but I've been able to efile both simultaneously every other year

TurboTax will tell you why you are not able to e-file your New York state return. Usually it is because some forms are not available or unsupported by TurboTax.

At this point, all NY forms are available that are supported by TurboTax. If you are not able to e-file you may have an unsupported form. Did something change in your situation in 2020?

If you are using CD\Desktop, make sure TurboTax is up to date. Click Online in the upper left menu. Then Check for Updates.

Finally make sure you NY return has no errors. Run another State Review.

NYS return will not transmit because software needs an amount in Box 12a, which is not on my Vanguard 1099-R. As well, the 1099-R has no tax withheld as the distribution was a charitable one. I have tried to put $0 in the space, but Turbotax will not allow me to proceed. Help!!
