NY State Property tax relief credit IT229 Question

I have questions regarding the form It-229 property tax relief credit.

In 2022, I have received 2 different homeowner tax rebates:

1) New York State - "2022 Homeowner Tax Rebate" check - $355

2) New York City "Property Tax Rebate" check - $150

My question is do I have to reduced the New York City "Property Tax Rebate" by property tax I paid for year 2022?

Where to put the amount of NYC property tax rebate on the form IT-229?

do I add up these two rebates and subtract from the property tax on the form IT-229?

Yes.

If you are Itemizing Deductions, yes, reduce the state property tax paid by both amounts.

Yes, add the two amounts and subtract from the property tax you paid in 2022.

According to the state of New York:

“If you itemize your deductions, reduce your itemized deduction for real estate taxes paid by the total amount of any STAR credit and the homeowner tax rebate credit received during the tax year; keep your check stubs with your tax records.”
