NY paid family leave is reported on 1099G with different payer TIN than TT allows... Help!

Please help.  My wife had paid family leave reported last year on a 1099-G from NY State Insurance Fund after the birth of our son, but when entering it in TT, it wants to force me to change the TIN of the payer to the NY Department of Labor (instead of the NY insurance fund).  I am concerned this will cause issues either filing or down the road.  Is this a glitch in Turbo Tax?

I also received PFL from my employer but was reported on a 1099-misc and that worked fine.

Enter the identification number for the NY Department of Labor (DOL) as the payer.  The Insurance fund is only the identification of the fund within the NY DOL.

The difference between the way yours and your wife's is being reported in TurboTax is the difference in forms.  A 1099G is specifically from a government agency not a fund identification.    Your 1099-misc is more flexible in it's uses thus allowing more ways to enter it in TurboTax.

This will not affect your tax calculations.

Here is a link that shows how the State Insurance fund is part of NY DOL  This is true for Workmen's Compensation and paid family leave.

Thank you.  I had the same issue as the initial poster reported.
