Not sure why my refund is as little as it is

While there may be many factors including changes to your income, possible deductions or credits and changes in the tax laws, the most common reason relates to your withholding.

Check with your employer to confirm, but many employers now withhold amounts closer to your actual tax owed. Your refund may be less, but you should also be seeing a slight increase in your take home net amount 

Without being able to see your return and your previous year's return, no one here can fully explain why things changed this year.
