No where in the self-help walk through did your service mention that I had $5080 in federal tax withheld..isn't this supposed to factor into my refund and make it higher?

in the self-help, does the AI service call out federal income tax witheld? yes or no?

"I had $5080 in federal tax withheld" - was this on your W-2, or where?

If you made estimated or quarterly tax payments in 2022 toward your federal, state, or local taxes, enter them in the Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid section.

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Go to the Federal section, then Deductions & Credits
    • You can also search for estimated tax payments and select the Jump to in the search results
  3. Select Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  4. Select Start or Revisit next to Estimated Tax Payments
  5. Choose Start next to the type of estimated tax payment you'd like to enter
  6. Enter the amount of estimated tax you paid at each of the quarterly due dates
It does not come up in the interview.  You have to enter it yourself if it did not carry through from last year.\

TurboTax is not AI.

It's just a big flowchart that follows a branch based on your answers and selections.

"yes or no?"

It is not called out because it is on it's own box on your W-2.

You have to enter all the information from your W-2.

thank you...YES....I had to print out my return to understand what my tax obligation was based on my income...your automated system didn't tell me that....so I realized AFTER the filing why my federal withholding of roughly $5000 was reduced to about a $1250 refund...the tax obligation ate up the rest of it...thanks...
