NJ State Employee - How to report w2 section 14 401(a)?

My wife works for NJ in education and on her W2 section 14 there are 3 codes.  One of them is '401(a)'.

It looks like this is capturing her retirement contributions?

In turbotax I don't see a '401(a)' value when I input her W2 details.  Which value do I select?

Employers can put just about anything in box 14; it's a catch-all for items that don't have their own dedicated box on the W-2.

In TurboTax, enter the description from your W-2's box 14 on the first field in the row. Enter the dollar amount and select the correct tax category that goes with that description.

If none of the categories apply, scroll to the bottom of the list and choose Other (not classified). Don’t worry. TurboTax will ask for more information if necessary to figure out if it impacts your return or not.

There are three New Jersey categories listed in the drop-down menu: SDI, UI/WF/SWF, and FLI. You could ask the employer if the code they entered represents one of those three categories, or just choose Other.

If box 14 is blank, just skip over it. Don't enter a 0 for any blank boxes.
