New York State the filing of my 2019 Tax return by mail.How can I file that return on line?

When I tried to file by mail I received this response: "New York State law requires  Income  tax prepared using software to be e-filed"

You can only e-file state if the Federal has already been e-filed and accepted.  NY law required e-file UNLESS the software you are using does not support e-file and if Federal has not been e-filed then TurboTax does not support state e-file - so mailing NY is permitted.
