Do not file the NY IT-203 return. You are not required to file a NY return since the company is not located there and you did not derive any income from NY sources. You have no NY withholding so there is nothing for you to receive as a refund. If you have a NY return in your file use the link to show how to delete it.

We may need more clarity however here is some information about what is required for a nonresident.
When you prepare the state return you will be asked about your residency. If you were a nonresident then that selection will create the New York (NY) nonresident tax form required.
Any NY source income will be taxable if it doesn't meet the criteria for a tax free benefit.
If you do have to pay tax to NY, your state of residence will give you a credit for taxes paid to another state on the same income. The credit that is allowed will be the lesser of:

I never set foot in New York for work, but my company has a New York mailing address.
No physical office location in New York. Plus, they listed New Jersey as my state wages
and withholding. Nothing for New York. I don't think I have to file the IT-203 Non-Resident
New York form, but I want to be sure. If I do, turbo tax states that I have to pay New York
Non-Resident tax of $7,000, but I will get a 100% refund from New Jersey of $6,000. It's
almost a wash, but it still costing me $1,000 extra. Please help. Thank you.
