Need to delete some 1099-Bs from the list of my investments.

The click on the garbage can does not work. What is the work around? e

Are you using a Mac device? Some Mac users have had difficulty with finding the pop up screen over the grayed-out area that appears when you click the trash can icon and asks you to confirm whether you want to delete the item. See screenshot below:

If you click on the trash can icon and just see the grayed-out area, try adjusting the size of your screen display.

See here for Windows devices.

Another expert recommended the following to adjust font/text size:

How to Increase the Text Size on Your Mac

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner.
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Select Displays.
  4. Click Scaled.
  5. Select a lower/higher resolution. If you see icons with different sized previews of text, select the icon that says Larger Text and click OK.

Another description of the fix to adjust the resolution on your screen, appears on this Apple Support page:

On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Displays in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Select the display you want to adjust, then select the resolution you want to use. You may be able to turn on “Show all resolutions” to see additional resolutions for the display.

Depending on how you adjust the resolution, some app windows may not fit entirely on the screen. Using a scaled resolution may affect performance.

In the alternative, you could hook up a separate monitor to your device with a larger display area.
