Need to create (not file) amended return but switched platforms and can't access TT 2023

On my 2023 return in TT Deluxe Desktop on PC, I overlooked the line for entering 2022 state refund applied to 2023 estimated taxes , thus I overpaid. State caught it and sent me a letter and a check. I understood from other advice on this site that I need to create (but not file) an amended return so that the correct information transfers to my 2024 return. Problem is that last year I used a PC which is currently not working (waiting to hear if it's fixable) and now I have a Mac so I can't use last year's license. I have the .tax file on a flash drive but the TT 23 software is not backed up anywhere else; no other PCs around that I can use.

Before I try laptop repair/data recovery, I wonder if there is any way to correct the mistake in the 2024 return? I have not downloaded TT 2024 yet.

Thanks!

Yes, you are using the desktop software so you can make any adjustments needed. This is just a refund amount rather than something complicated with a lot of moving parts.

If your state 1099-G reflects the refund, that part is correct. Then the itemized deductions for last year, for state tax paid would be increased by the extra amount and I am assuming you hit the $10,000 SALT limit so that it didn't affect your federal to need to amend it.

When the program is looking at the taxable portion of the refund, you can verify/correct those entries. If the program doesn't let you, switch over to forms mode to correct the numbers.
