Need to Amend, dont have ex-wifes SSN

Weird story, my ex filed 2018 taxes and never told me about it, took the money and ran, havent seen her in many years. I had a 1099 from eBAY and no write offs were done so they are saying I owe $20k. They are letting me amend the 2018 taxes, however, I dont have my ex-wifes SSN, how am I supposed to amend my taxes? She originally filed the return joint, married. Can I amend it married filing separate so I dont have to put her info on there? or put all zeros in for her SSN? Im out of ideas.

It's not likely you will be able to amend the return as a joint return as you would both have to sign it for it to be able to be processed. You can't amend a return to switch from married-joint to married-separate after the original due date of the return. You can contact the IRS and ask them if you can provide them with the schedule C you need to report the expenses associated with the missing income, but they may not be willing to accept that.
