Need Review Won't Go Away

The Business Income and Expenses section keeps saying "Needs Review".  I have gone through each section multiple times- even if there isn't anything to add.  I have double checked all the info from the 1099-NEC is correct.  When I get to the end to review the federal tax return it says everything is all good.  Which is it? All good or needing review?  So frustrated.

Sometimes to resolve this issue first try troubleshooting your web browser, turn off any pop-up blockers, use a different web browser, delete your browser cookies.

If this does not resolve your issue reach out to us again.

Even if I'm not using a browser based version?  I downloaded it to the computer...

You can click on Done or Continue to move to the next section.   The Needs Review message will not prevent e-filing.  If your return has errors that prevent e-filing, TurboTax will highlight the errors when you do the Complete Check (federal and state final review) before going through the final filing steps.

Yep, I posted this a few days ago - I've been getting it as well no matter how many times I go over everything!! I've checked everything multiple times.

Everything is correct and when TT checks everything at the end, it even says everything is correct and my taxes are ready to file.

I'm afraid next year though,  when I try transfer everything over, there will be an issue.

Turbo Tax needs to fix this, it's a TT bug!

Yeh but for next year, trying to transfer things over when they're "need review" will be an issue.

Turbo Tax needs to fix this, its obviously a bug.

Bug still not fixed same issue.  It is annoying to see it there, makes me not want to efile yet.

Go ahead and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Continue.   The Needs Review message will NOT prevent e-file.   Before you file the return(s), TurboTax will take you through a Complete Check and will flag any errors that will prevent e-filing then.   You can continuing preparing your returns and ignore the needs review messages.   If there are any errors on the return, the Complete Check in the final review section will prompt you to make changes before submitting the return(s).    @Aligood

The "Needs Review" just won't go away.
Clicking on "Review" does nothing and loads the same page.
Already tried in Google Chrome & Microsoft Edge with same issue.

This appears to be a rounding issue.  The .05 entry rounds to 0 which the program doesn't like.  You can either delete this entry by clicking on the trashcan icon, or edit it to read $1 to avoid the rounding error.

You should then be able to proceed.

Hello @SusanY1 ,

Thank you for looking into this.

The needs review is showing up inside the Stocks, sales part (1099-B).

The 0.05 is another section for 1099-INT which doesn't have any flag.

Thanks

This Needs Review comes up on Business Expenses and also QBI income.  I even made a second copy of my completed tax return and deleted the business expenses and the Needs Review message was still showing up.  It seems that since TurboTax went to only downloading the program instead of buying it on a CD they screwed up the programming of the software.

I'm getting the same error on the desktop version of TT. Although it may not be a problem to file this year, I'd like to be able to see the actual $ amount for 2024 when I import the file next year...

I too am getting this 'needs review' message under the Business Income Section. I've noticed that if I go in and review each section, 1099-Misc Income "yes" is checked by default

and if I change it to "no" and continue, when I go back again, it's still showing 'yes'.  I wonder if this is causing the 'needs review' error. i.e., if 'yes' was true then there would be additional information required to be entered. The final review shows no errors, I however don't feel confident efiling with a known "glitch" in the software. Who knows what other oversights there may be?

It's no March 12 and I still have this error. I got an update today but didn't resolve the needs review. This is a huge problem in that the needs review is preventing my itemized deductions to be counted and instead giving me the standard deduction. I've gone through so many iterations of trying to fix this but it's 100% a bug with TT. FIX IT PLEASE!!!

Thank you for the number. I called and after 1.5 hours the person couldn't do anything but did promise to get supervisors to look into it and then call me back. 2 days later I got an update on TT which miraculously fixed the problem.

You should be able to continue your return even though it says "Needs Review". ‌To do this, click on "Continue" at the bottom of your page. You should still be able to proceed to e-file your return. ‌

Prior to e-filing, TurboTax will run a "Smart Check" of your return(s) and will bring attention to any errors that may prevent e-filing. ‌The program will prompt you to make any necessary changes needed to e-file your return.
