My W2 only has taxable wages in box 1 not gross wages does this make a difference?

Box 1 of Form W-2 is only supposed to report taxable wages, tips, and other compensation that was paid to you in 2016. Please refer to page 15 of the IRS instructions for Form W-2. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/iw2w3_16.pdf
