MY W2 has WA in box 15 but there is no "State Employers state ID number"

I would also assume that there is no state tax wages in box 16 or withholding in box 17 because Washington does not have income taxes. Therefore, do not enter WA in box 15 either or the software will prompt you for the additional information, including the state ID number.

You can see under the state taxes tab that there's no state return available for Washington because they don't have an individual income tax return filing requirement. You can read more on the state of Washington's government website HERE.

The app will not allow me to continue on with my tax return unless I put something in box 15. I live in WA and am filing for WA and boxes 16 has a about 64k in it and box 17-20 are blank.

You can enter the federal EIN in box 15 to proceed.

@ekulnamder   Washington does not have a state income tax.   Leave boxes 15, 16, 17 Blank.
