My W2 form box 16 has 2 amounts, which one should i use?

Hi,

In the box 16 of W2 form, there is a dot line and 2 numbers (one number above the dot line and another number below the dot line).

My W2 form box 16 for this year contains 2 different number. The number above the dot line is about 3,000 while the number below the dot line is 0.

So which number should i use when filing tax return using Turbo tax?

Thank you.

Form W-2 Box 16 is state wages.

This amount will flow through to your state return, so you need to enter what your state wages actually were.

If you don't know, you should check with your employer as to why they split the box.

Did you work in more than one state for that employer?
