My W2 box 14 amount recorded by my employer is $179.78. This creates an eFile error in TT saying NJ FLI amount cant be > than $147. Do I have to mail my return now?

Please confirm you are using the category New Jersey UI/WF/SWF tax, not New Jersey FLI tax.

Do you have more than one employer? From all W2's can you tell me what is listed in box 14, both the code and amount.

This error is due to amounts exceeding the maximum for 2024.

For 2024, the maximum employee contributions are:

  • UI/WF/SWF — $179.78;
  • DI — $0;
  • FLI — $145.26.

Here is NJ Division of Taxations Guidance.

Hi there and thank for responding.  Just the 1 W2 from a single employer.  The box 14 has the following entry

UI/HC/WD 179.78
