IRS says I haven’t filed from this state before and not for some years and denied my tax return without proof of identity doesn’t turbo tax guarantee you identity to them why won’t they help
No--TurboTax cannot help you provide proof of identity. TurboTax has no information about you except for what you yourself enter into a software program. TurboTax does not cross check that information or verify its accuracy from any outside source. You have to provide the IRS with the information they are requesting.
Sometimes the IRS chooses returns randomly to request verification of identity and sometimes there is something on the return that triggers the request. No matter why the IRS has required you to verify your identity, you need to follow their instructions in order to receive your refund. If you do not verify your identity you will not get your refund.
