My state income tax is blank on my w-2 do I need to put a 0 in that box on my tax return or leave it blank as well?

You can leave it Blank (as it is on your W-2).   

 

This means your employer did not withhold any State Income Tax.

 

Check your paycheck detail if you don't think your W-2 is correct.
