My spouse and i divorced july 2024. We filed as married filing jointly, Do I get credit for estimated taxes paid in the first half of the year?

I should say, we filed in previous years as married filing jointly. Do I recieve any credit for estimated taxes paid during 2024 before we divorced?

Who paid the estimated tax?   Just you?   Or did you pay the estimated tax together?   Was this not determined during the divorce agreement?

Yes, you can claim the estimated taxes.  If you and your spouse made joint estimated tax payments for 2024 but file separate returns, either of you can claim all of your payments, or you can divide them in any way on which you both agree. If you can’t agree, the estimated tax you can claim equals the total estimated tax paid times the tax shown on your separate return for 2024, divided by the total of the tax shown on your 2024 return and your spouse's 2024 return. You may want to attach an explanation of how you and your spouse divided the payments.
