When you got the email telling you the return was rejected, that email had a rejection code or rejection message.  No one else can see your email, so we do not know why your return was rejected.  The most common reason is incorrect AGI, which no longer matters, since it is too late to e-file, and you only needed 2017's AGI to e-file.

Now you must print, sign and mail your tax return.  E-filing is closed.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

while the majority of rejections are due to incorrect prior year AGI, they are many other reasons for rejection.  if you know the rejection is for AGI, nothing needs to be done to correct this.  if you are unsure or it isn't an AGI issue post back with the code or the reason given for the rejection.      It could be something that needs to be corrected before filing,   if possible.   Otherwise, you will get a notice or letter from the IRS.  .
