My refund was more than expected. is this a mistake i will have to pay back? When filing, it showed a refund of close to $1000 less, fed & state, than was deposited.

If you're not due the higher amount then don't spend it. You'll have to return it. However, you'll get letter from IRS explaining the difference. I got more back one past year and it was due to a mistake by me. They fixed error and I didn't have to send amended return. I did fix in my personal file though so any transfered data in the future would be correct. Good luck.
