My husband used to do web design from home. He did not do that last year. How do I get around the Schedule C?

He did not sell the business or abandon it. He may go back to it eventually. But right now I can't get past the Schedule C in Turbo Tax. How do I convince TT that he didn't work at web design last year?

If you no longer have business income or expenses, you can 'dispose' of your schedule C business. Under the Business Profile, indicate that your business is disposed of for the tax year.

This will remove forms/schedules/worksheets for the business for the year and going forward. Also dispose of any listed assets that you might have. Depreciation will be calculated up to the disposal date and then removed.

If he didn't have any income or expenses for the business, then you can 'dispose' of the business. Under the Business Profile, indicate that the business is disposed for the current tax year. This will remove forms/schedules going forward. If there are assets listed for the business, these too must be disposed of.

Let me know if this helps
