My husband used my personal paypal to let a few clients pay their bills and I now recieved a 1099k in my name.

Hi, My husband didn't have an online way for a few clients who had no other ways to pay their bill besides using cards so I let him use my PayPal to create a few invoices, but I ended up receiving a 1099 K under my name. None of the money stayed in my account it was all quickly transferred over to his actual business bank account. How do I go about filing this, he is a sole proprietor so we file married jointly using Schedule C. Am I able to still claim that as income  money for his business or do I have to claim it as income on my end, even though I didn't receive any of the money and does that mean I need to pay the taxes on that. I'm just very confused on how this works. Thanks

You are filling jointly, and the Schedule C is included in the tax return.

This does not have to be complicated

When you enter the 1099-K

  • It will ask who it is for [You]
  • It will then ask if it is associated with a business
  • You can select the Schedule C

The taxes will be calculated in the business return.
