My husband started a new job 12/18/2024 and mistakenly they put him down as filing separate when we always file jointly. How will this affect our tax returns ?

What is entered on the W-4 that is given to the employer to withhold federal income taxes has no bearing whatsoever on the filing status you enter on the tax return.
