My husband is a 100% disabled veteran who cannot work and doesn’t file taxes. Would I claim married head of household since I work full time and pay taxes?

HOH is less favorable than MFJ so your suggestion makes no sense.

If you've been filing married separately, you may need to amend past returns to Married Joint.

Generally, you get the most tax benefit if your filing status is "Married Filing Jointly".  "Head of household" is for "unmarried" taxpayers with dependents.

The other option you have is "Married Filing Separately".  However, that filing status eliminates several tax breaks available to those who file jointly.
