My husband hasn't worked for almost a year due to an accident and surgery should I still file joint and do we get any exemptions

Not much details just need to know should I still file jointly and because I was the only provider in the household. Can I still file married jointly or married separately which one should I file?

Yes, you can file married filing jointly and this is usually more beneficial than filing married filing separately.

Nothing you described would warrant filing separately.
There are no special credits or deductions  (other than medical deductions), for being off work.
