My husband and I filed jointly although I did not work this past year. We live in NM...how do I feel out form 8379?

Refund was taken for husbands student loans. Can I claim exemptions for 2018 taxes?

No, for 2018 and later, you can't claim exemptions on line 16 of Form 8379.

Please see the instructions for each line in Part III of Form 8379 in the Instructions for Form 8379, as that portion of the form can be pretty tricky.

So I would put 0 in all 3 boxes? I've read instructions over and over but am still confused how to fill out part 3. We live in a community property and I did not work...do I still split everything equally or do I enter 0 for my part?

Yes, put zero in all three line 16 boxes. For additional Part III guidance, please see my previous post at https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4719614. Hopefully this will help.
