My husband and I are teachers and I inputted the educator credit, but I do not see it applied in my review. Can you explain?

We have 500 each in qualified teacher expenses but none of this was added into our tax breaks in the final tally. I also wanted to ask about student loan interest -- I didn't see those deductions in the final tally either. I do see some education credits but those apply for continuing education my husband had to complete for professional development. Why would the educator expenses and student loan interest not count toward reducing our taxes? We are taking the standard deduction but my understand is that these things apply with the standard deduction.

Look at schedule 1, line 11 for the educator expense deduction. It is $300 each for a maximum of $600 for MFJ.

Look at Sch 1 line 21 for the student loan interest deduction.
