My husband and I are separated. we are filing separate. his W2 still has our home address even though he does not live here anymore. is this a problem?

we havent lived together in a couple of years but are legaly still married. we have been filing separate but his W2 still shows our home address. is that a red flag for the IRS?

The address on your husband's W-2 is not a problem.  People change addresses all the time.  He should just use the address on his tax return where he would want to receive mail form the iRS.

He currently does not have a home address, he is staying with friends. His mail goes to a P.O.Box but the IRS does not accept that as a form of address. Can he use my (his former) home address (same as on his W2) without it causing issues with the IRS? Thats really my biggest issue. I dont want the IRS come knocking on my door and audit me and or him just because he is basically homeless at the moment

Filing married separate is not a problem--you can use the same address.
