My grandmother passed away in 2021. TurboTax says "Cannot be before 01/01/2023" when I enter that date. Can I not use TurboTax for her returns?

We had originally filed her returns for the year she passed, and have a mail receipt confirming they were delivered to the IRS, but the IRS says the return was never received and that we'll need to file again.

Did you use Turbo Tax?  You can print it out again.

Sorry it's too, late to start a 2021 online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2021.  If you need to do 2021 you can buy the Desktop download here,

TurboTax 2021 Prior Year Tax Prep - File Past Years' Taxes

You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.

What software are you using?   Are you trying to use the current online program?   The online program is only for a 2023 return -- no other year.

Why not simply print another copy of the return you think you filed by mail and send it again?   And...again...use a mailing service like certified mail to track it and make sure it is received by the IRS.
