My girlfriend and her daughter have been living with me for 7 years. She claims her daughter as a dependent. I never have claimed her as a dependent but am I allowed to?

If you claim her, she loses her daughter as a dependent. And you can't claim the daughter because she is her qualifying child.

So you may accomplish nothing. But it depends on who gets the most benefit from one dependent.

Anyway, if your girlfriend makes over $4,050 you can't claim her.
