My GF & I live together and we have 2 children. Can i claim Head of household & claim 1 child & she can claim single claim 1 child for the child tax credit?

She makes less than me around 20k and me claiming 1 child and head of household will help me in taxes. Also can she still qualify for the child tax credit as single and not head of household.

Then one of you can file as HOH, and the other as Single, as you described.  But you must claim at least one child to qualify for HOH.

You must also have provided more than 50% of the support for the entire household in 2018.

Are you both the parents of both children, and did you live together all of 2018?

Yes we are both the parents but we cant both be HOH so if she claims 1 child she would file as single but not sure if she would qualify for the child tax credit. We both live together and both children are under 10 years of age.

Will it be an issue if she claims single with one child dependent but not HOH? The reason I ask is because turbotax automatically makes it HOH when you put child is son/daughter and live all year with parent.
