My federal return was accepted and the filing instructions say to mail in Form 8453 with the Sched D continuation. However, I uploaded this electronically in the middle

of the TurboTax interview when I was entering my stock sales.  Turbotax said that since I uploaded the file as a PDF, they would send it in electronically for me.  However after filing I am still instructed to mail in Form 8453, even though the pre-filled out 8453 was not included ithe printed/saved version of the tax return package.  Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

This sounds like a bug.  Just to clarify, the message during the interview process is pasted below..... yet the filing instructions still ask to mail in a paper copy Form 8453 with the 1099-B, even though I uploaded it as instructed.  Again, the federal return was accepted and despite the filing instructions asking me to mail Form 8453, TurboTax is not generating a pre-populated Form 8453 for me to print, as it has done in years past when I actually did have to mail in a paper copy.  Thanks.

"Now we'll help you upload your 1099-B since the IRS requires a copy

The IRS requires a copy of your 1099-B because you need to provide documentation for some of the transactions on your sales summary.
If you have a PDF copy, upload it and we'll send it to the IRS for you.
If you don't have a PDF copy, you can skip upload and we'll help you mail a paper copy."

As instructed, I have uploaded a PDF copy, so TT should be sending this to the IRS electronically and should NOT be asking me to mail a paper copy.
