My federal return just shows tax due. What is the exact amount? It was 600? Now its only showing "tax due." How can I view how much I'm getting Back without tax due?

If your return is showing tax due, then you will not get a refund from the IRS.

If you have already filed your taxes, you can find your refund amount or balance due to the IRS on your Form 1040/1040A/1040EZ.

Refund Amount:

Form 1040  Line 75

Form 1040A  Line 47

Form 1040EZ  Line 13a

Form 1040NR  Line 72

Balance Due to the IRS:

Form 1040  Line 78

Form 1040A  Line 50

Form 1040EZ  Line 14

Form 1040NR  Line 75

If you have not filed your tax return, you can see your refund amount or balance due to the IRS using the instructions below.

  • Login to TurboTax Online and continue your return.
  • On the top right of the screen, select "My Account".
  • Select "Tools".
  • Select "View Tax Summary".
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the summary form.
  • If you will receive a refund from the IRS, the "Refund" line will have an amount here.

  • If you owe the IRS, you will see an amount on the "Balance Due" line.

Thanks. I noticed I put a 2012 w-2 which made me owe. I took the old w-2 out and it not negative anymore. Thanks for the help.
