My employer was sold, I had to interview and rehire with new employer is this a qualified event and allow me to transfer 403b to ira?

The employer I work for was sold, I had to interview and rehire with the new employer who bought my old employer. The new employer has 401k, old employer has 403b. Can I transfer my old 403b to an IRA? Would this be considered a qualified event?
